LOCATED ON THE OKLAHOMA LAWN AT RFK CAMPUS
Welcome, novices, beginners and pros! Go Play is excited to have launched the District’s first (and only) free disc golf course on the RFK Campus. The six-hole pop-up course is open 8 am to dusk seven days a week. Groups may not exceed six (6) people.
When you play with us you can borrow discs, scorecards, and pencils from The Fields Concession Stand in Lot 7. Note the office is open 12 pm-9 pm weekdays and 8 am-8 pm on weekends. You will need to leave an ID with the desk when you borrow equipment.
WHAT IS DISC GOLF?
Disc golf, much like golf, involves players trying to reach the hole (basket) in the fewest strokes possible. Your stroke is a throw with a modified frisbee. See “How to Play” for more info.
Objective
Disc Golf is played like regular golf but with flying discs. One point (stroke) is counted every time the disc is thrown and when a penalty is incurred. The objective is to finish each hole in the fewest strokes possible.
The player with the fewest strokes for the entire course wins.
How To Play
The first throw (stroke) for each round starts at the tee box. Each player throws their disc, aiming for the basket (hole).
Mark where your disc lands or leave it there—do not go past this spot on your next throw.
After every player has thrown once, the player farthest from the basket throws first, followed by the next closest and so on.
Once you have landed your disc in the chains of the basket or the basket itself, the hole is completed.
Lie
The Lie is the spot where the player’s previous throw has come to rest. Mark the lie with a marker and throw the next shot from behind the marker.
Throwing Order
The player with the fewest strokes on the previous hole will tee off first. After everyone tees off, the player furthest away from the hole throws first.
Out of Bounds (O.B.)
There are no out of bounds (O.B.) lines on the course. The only O.B. areas are the walkways, sidewalks and parking lot. If the disc is considered O.B., the player must throw their next shot 3 feet from the O.B. line with a one-stroke penalty added to their score.
Completion of Hole
A hole is completed when the disc comes to rest in the basket or chains.
Courtesy
Never throw a disc when there are other players ahead of you on the hole. Always give people walking on the walkway the right of way before throwing a disc. Remain cautious of your surroundings.
