COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP | Go Play + The Fields

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior staff and other duties as assigned

  • Compile and post content on social media platforms

  • Learn general facility operations including: providing information about the RFK Fields complex, events scheduling, and permitting process as well as greeting all patrons and answering questions as needed

  • Maintain a clean and safe facility by cleaning the turf playing fields, emptying trash cans as necessary, and monitoring restrooms regularly

  • Assist with special event set-up as needed

  • Monitor all RFK Campus rules, regulations, procedures, and office and field equipment

Qualifications

  • Current college degree or enrollment preferred. High school diploma minimum.

  • Experience or deep interest in nonprofit management, recreation facilities, and social entrepreneurship

  • Demonstrated administrative, reporting, and problem solving skills

  • Self-starter that takes initiative and communicates accordingly

  • Proficiency in Google apps for document, data and communications management

Compensation

  • Monthly stipend plus hourly wage as a Field Monitor

PROGRAM COORDINATOR | Go Play

The position offers a flexible schedule 35-40 hours per week, including both on-site and remote work. The opportunity and objective is to coordinate the key components of the organization’s programming, including Youth Sports for All, and supporting board efforts on advocacy and new program development.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Youth Sports for All including planning, communications, coordinating participation of partner organizations, conducting parent outreach and registration, compiling data, and reporting outcomes

  • Program support to the Executive Director + Board of Directors

  • Help to compile and analyze program data for reports to the Board, clients, and funders

  • Manage interns and volunteers

  • General facility operations at The Fields, on average one or two shifts a week as needed, including:

    • Providing information about the entire RFK Fields complex, events schedule and permitting process as needed, pleasantly greeting all patrons and answering questions with timely, accurate information

    • Maintaining a clean and safe facility including cleaning the turf playing fields, emptying trash cans as necessary and monitoring restrooms regularly

    • Providing access to fields and equipment

    • Assisting with special event set-up as needed

    • Monitoring all RFK Campus rules, regulations, procedures, venue, and field equipment

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent experience in related field, such as sports management, business or nonprofit management,  or community planning

  • Experience or deep interest in nonprofit management, recreation facilities and social change

  • Demonstrated executive functioning and administrative skills, including proactive communication and problem solving, system development of data tracking, creating engaging reports and promoting program accomplishments

  • Superior customer service skills with the ability to engage diverse sets of clients

  • Self-starter that takes initiative and communicates accordingly

  • Proficiency in Google apps for document, data and communications management

Salary + Benefits

  • Commensurate with experience

  • Accrued paid time off (10 days/year), plus 10 paid federal holidays
